MARCH 2010
California, Here I Come!
Every now and then something happens in my career that is a milestone. That's about to happen this month.
On Saturday, March 27th, at 2:00 PM, I will be at the Oakland, California Rockridge Branch Library doing my first ever book event in California. In all of my travels as a writer, I never been able get past Colorado. This month I'm heading to the West Coast and I am thrilled.
Not only will I be seeing San Francisco for the first time, and traveling across that bridge that's just as famous, I will be meeting and sharing the stage with two authors of whom their books I totally enjoyed - April Sinclair (Coffee Will Make You Black) and Renee Swindle (Please, Please, Please).
So if you are in the area, please come out and join me. The event is Saturday, March 27th, 2010 at 2 pm at the Oakland, California Rockridge Branch Library. The address is 5366 College Avenue, Oakland, California. Thank you Deborah Burton and The Turning Pages Book Club for inviting me.
For my Georgia Folks, please come out and join me on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:30 pm at the Smyrna Library, in Smyrna Georgia, located at 100 Village Green Circle, 2nd Floor, in Smyrna Georgia. I will be discussing my novel "A Journey To Here".
Last month I talked about the power of love. I just want to take this moment to thank all my readers, my fans and anyone who ever picked up a book by MJH. As I said before, without you, I'm just someone telling stories for my own benefit. Without you, there could really be no "MJH".
In Other Good News:
Fellow author friends of mine have new releases this month: "Uptown" by Virginia Deberry and Donna Grant and "What Mother Never Told Me" by Donna Hill, and Bernice McFadden's upcoming novel "Glorious" is available for pre-order on Amazon.com. Please check them out when you get the chance. And if you have access to On-Demand Cable, and you haven't seen it, make sure you catch the movie "Sins Of The Mother" starring Jill Scott. It is based on author Carleen Brice's book "Orange Mint and Honey".
It's March and though we've had quite a winter, my heart warms at the thought of Spring. It's the time of year when we look forward to renewal and rebirth. May this Spring be a blessing to us all...
As always, I invite you all to drop me a line at: mjhodge@bellsouth.net. Until next time, may your life be filled with love, light, and understanding. Until next time,
Peace and Blessings,
Margaret
