About the Virtual Writing Workshop Experience:
You will need to be able to access the Zoom Platform. You are not required to join Zoom (which is free) but we highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with how it works prior to attending the workshop. Zoom can be accessed on a Smart Phone, Tablet, Laptop or Computer. We suggest you utilize a format that has a large enough screen to view the session and participates properly.
We'd like to be to 'see' and 'hear' you during the session. Zoom allows us to be in the same 'space' even though we are in different locations, so we are asking that you use both the audio and the video setting during the session.
Check your local time Zone! The workshop will be given in the Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST.) Please make sure you calculate your time zone to line up with the session. 2pm EST = 1pm CST, 12 Noon MST and 11am PST.
A Mailing Address will be required: Some of the Workshop Materials used will be mailed to you in hard copy. Please know that your address will not be used for any other purpose.
There will be breaks: We understand the need to take a break and we will be offering a few, allowing you time to grab a snack, water or take a bathroom break.
Good Behavior is the Best Behavior: We are coming together to learn, share and grow. We reserve the right to 'remove' anyone who is considered disruptive to the session and will.
The session may run a little longer or little shorter than the stated time frame depending on the number of participants. We want to give everyone a chance to 'share.' Though this is a small group, the full run time will be dependent on the how many people join the session.

Does it Matter What I Want to Write About? No. Doing a personal story? Would like to chronicle your family history? Want to create a crafty cookbook? Write a romance or a suspense thriller? This workshop is ideal because it deals with the craft of writing, which is applicable to all styles.
I’ve Already Started Writing Something. Is this Workshop a Good Fit for Me? Absolutely! No matter your skill set or lack of, this workshop will elevate your abilities and provide you with bona fide tips, tools and methods that will provide better writing.
Is the Workshop Hard? No, not at all. We believe fun and laughter is a wonderful way to engage people and so we use a lot of that. Writing can be a serious thing but we always bring in the fun! Don’t be surprised if the instructor breaks out in a song and dance!
I Want to Write but I’m a Little Intimidated by the Idea of Attending a Workshop. We strive to provide a warm and receptive environment where there’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’ Utilizing a basic component that we call the ‘KCC’—Kindness, Consideration and Care, we encourage, not discourage and offer positive support to everyone who attends.
I'm Kind of Shy About My Writing and Don't Do Well in Groups We understand how private and personal writing can be, that's why we insist on a Small Group Setting, with a limited number of participants, ensuring that everyone gets a chance to participate and engage in the writing workshop process.
